George Russell joins the GPDA as a director, replacing the outgoing director Romain Grosjean.

The assembly of active Formula 1 drivers was originally founded to improve safety standards within F1.

George is welcomed to the GPDA by Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel and chairman, Alex Wurz whilst Grosjean remains on the board as an advisor.

I am looking forward to tackling the new challenges and opportunities alongside Anastasia, Sebastian and Alex.”

George will be back on track for FP1 on Friday March 26 at 11:30am GMT.
